The Book Cabinet-Inspired Side Table is a side table reinterpreted for modern living spaces, drawing inspiration from traditional Joseon wooden furniture. Traditional book cabinets favored light paulownia wood, which provided insect-repellent properties, and its simple form and aesthetic are considered representative of the beauty of Joseon woodcraft. However, paulownia wood's naturally soft material was susceptible to scratching during everyday use. To address this limitation, this piece replaces paulownia with stronger ash wood, which is carbonized and finished with black lacquer. This preserves the original subtle and understated texture while adding durability and a contemporary sensibility. Furthermore, the proportions of the traditional book cabinet—originally designed for floor-sitting—have been adjusted in height to suit upright living, making it convenient to use as a side table or accent table. While maintaining the formal balance of traditional woodcraft, a clean wood grain pattern has been applied, allowing it to blend naturally into both Hanok-style spaces and modern interior environments. Price: 3,500,000 KRW
