Hohodang Saekdong Bokjori Backpack Introduced newly by Hohodang in autumn 2024, this is a saekdong backpack. Inspired by the saekdong fabric that was backed onto the reverse side of a scroll document when King Yeongjo appointed Queen Consort Jeong-sun Kim as his queen, it is reimagined and dyed in Hohodang's own way with two colors. It is characterized by calm yet deep-toned colors that evoke the elegant attire of scholars or the covers of antique books. Saekdong means 'colors layered together' and is a traditional fabric that has been used in precious settings throughout history not only for auspicious occasions like first birthday celebrations, but also to ward off misfortune and bring blessings. The backpack lining is reinforced with dupioni silk, and meticulous attention is given to details by applying the production methods of luxury designer bags. To increase durability, natural leather is wrapped around the edges apart from saekdong and dupioni silk, natural leather is also reinforced at the strap-fixing points, and the entire edge is finished cleanly with paint.
