How do I buy K-pop photocards from Korea?

Updated 2026-07-20

The short answer: K-pop photocards come from a few places — randomly sealed inside albums, as store pre-order benefits (POBs), from lucky draws and fan events, and resold on Korea's secondhand market. Most originate in Korea and never reach global stores. To get specific cards, sets or album inclusions, order the Korean listing through a proxy: KOSURAN buys them in Korea and ships them to you consolidated.

Where photocards come from

  • Album inclusions — typically 1–3 random cards per album (some groups include more). They're sealed inside, so you can't choose which you get.
  • Store POBs — pre-order benefit cards, a different design at each Korean store, given only during the preorder window.
  • Lucky-draw and event cards — scarce cards handed out during a short release-week draw or at fan events.
  • Season's greetings and special sets — year-end and DVD packages with their own exclusive cards.
  • The secondhand market — Bunjang, Pocamarket and similar Korean platforms, where specific and traded cards are sold individually.

Individual cards vs sealed albums

The route depends on what you want:

  • A specific card — buying sealed albums won't guarantee it. Specific cards live on the secondhand market, sold one at a time; you buy the exact listing.
  • Album inclusions or a store POB — buy the sealed album or the preorder from the right store. The card comes as the store packed it.
  • Full sets — some releases and sellers offer a complete card set rather than singles.

How overseas fans actually buy

  1. For inclusions and POBs — order the Korean store listing. If it's in KOSURAN's K-pop catalog, order directly; otherwise paste the product URL.
  2. For a specific or traded card — paste the secondhand listing URL and we'll quote it.

How KOSURAN gets it to you

We buy from the Korean store or seller, receive it and check the outer condition at our Seoul hub, then consolidate everything into one tracked parcel — shipped worldwide with US customs prepaid (DDP), tracked step by step, and usually about two business days by express once it leaves Korea. Photocards are light, so they ride essentially for free inside a larger haul. CS answers within 24 hours, and if we can't complete a purchase you're refunded to your original payment method.

Honest note

Sealed albums stay sealed at our hub — we don't open them to pull a card, so album inclusions stay random and nobody picks yours. For secondhand cards, condition and authenticity are down to the seller you choose; we confirm the item matches your order and its outward state on arrival, but we don't grade or authenticate individual cards. Buy from sellers with a solid trade record, and see our official vs bootleg guide for spotting fakes.

Common questions

Where do K-pop photocards come from?

Mostly from Korea: sealed randomly inside albums, as store pre-order benefit (POB) cards, from short release-week lucky draws and fan events, and resold on Korea's secondhand market. Few reach global stores, which is why overseas fans buy the Korean listing.

Can I buy a specific photocard from Korea?

Yes — specific cards are sold individually on the secondhand market (Bunjang, Pocamarket and similar). Paste the listing URL and we'll buy it and ship it. Cards sealed randomly inside albums can't be chosen.

Do you open albums to pull the photocard I want?

No — sealed albums stay sealed at our hub. Random inclusions stay random and nobody picks yours, including us. You can choose a version or a store's POB, not the card sealed inside.

Can you buy photocards from Bunjang or Pocamarket for me?

If the listing is purchasable, yes — paste the URL and we'll quote it. Condition and authenticity are the seller's; we confirm the item and its outward state on arrival but don't authenticate individual cards.
